The European Union has been recommended by the International Energy Agency (IEA) to conserve gas to avoid storage facilities running out of fuel and supply disruptions during the winter.
And the gas market report presented by the agency today, Monday in Paris, stated that in order to maintain gas reserves at an adequate level until the end of the heating season, demand must be reduced by 9-13% compared to the average during the past five years.
The report added that in light of the low flow of liquefied natural gas, this will ensure that gas reserves remain at a level ranging between 25-30%.
