Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) has conducted exercises with the Indian Navy in waters off India’s east coast, the Japanese Defense Ministry said Tuesday, amid China’s growing influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Japanese Kyodo News Agency indicated that the aircraft carrier “Izumo” of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, along with the destroyer “Takanami”, participated in the ongoing exercises this week in the area extending from the Andaman Sea to the strategically important Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.
