The Emirates Post Group, in cooperation with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, issued a commemorative photographic stamp to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the award’s establishment.
The commemorative stamp bears three luminous images that reflect the creative visual passion inherited by three generations of the leaders of the Emirate of Dubai and the pillars of the comprehensive leadership of the United Arab Emirates, namely, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may his soul rest in peace; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, founder and sponsor of the award.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, said: “We are pleased to launch the new commemorative postal edition on the occasion of the decade marking the founding of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, and to celebrate the award’s role and remarkable contributions in motivating and encouraging distinguished people in the fields of visual arts. And providing a platform for national and international photography talents.”
He added the initiative comes within the framework of the Emirates Post Group’s vision to highlight the position and role of the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE as incubator environments for creativity and artistic excellence, encourage the convergence of civilizations and cultures, and stimulate innovation in various fields.
For his part, Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, Secretary-General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, expressed his appreciation for this initiative, as the postal issuance comes to celebrate ten years of excellence and uniqueness of the award in terms of its presence and importance, the diversity of its axes, the breadth of its spread, and its role. The growing celebration of creativity and success stories in the arts of photography, stressing that the award continues to reflect Dubai’s passion for leadership and creativity, inspired by the vision of wise leadership.
It is noteworthy that His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, established the award in 2011. Since its establishment, the award has honored many creators, professionals and enthusiasts in the arts of photography from all over the world, during ten seasons during which the award celebrated messages and values A variety of humanity and themes, starting from “Love of the Earth” in the season (2011-2012) to “Humanity” in the “2020-2021” season. The award has adopted “nature” as a main theme in its eleventh season.
