As part of their participation and interaction with the Afforestation Week, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality teams conducted field visits to the new and emerging construction sites, where hundreds of plant seedlings were planted and distributed, especially seedlings of the Ghaf tree, in the sites of the new construction cities in Abu Dhabi and its environs.
The municipality also provided awareness instructions to workers on the importance of afforestation, preserving vegetation cover, developing and expanding green spaces, taking care of trees and plants, preserving the environment at construction sites, and rooting agricultural values and their importance in the hearts of all.
The municipality teams participating in the campaign were keen to plant hundreds of “Ghaf” trees in construction sites with the aim of enhancing the environment and biosphere of these areas, adding aesthetic appearance, and promoting environmental values, because the “Ghaf” tree represents a national and environmental symbolism in the UAE. Construction site workers in planting trees in order to encourage them to take care of planting and trees in construction sites and motivate them to preserve and protect the environment.
