US President Donald Trump said on Monday evening that he planned to impose 10 percent customs duties on the $ 200 billion a year of Chinese imports.
The move comes in response to Beijing’s “rejected” measures following a first US tax increase on Chinese imports.
“Additional measures must be taken to urge China to change its unfair practices and open its markets to American goods,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House.
