“Checkout”: 4 out of 10 consumers in the UAE shop digitally, the popularity of “digital wallets” in the country has doubled in the past two years

E-commerce in the United Arab Emirates is witnessing significant growth accompanied by increasing opportunities for actors in the e-commerce sector. The data concluded by the report “Digital Transformation in the Middle East and North Africa 2022” issued by “Checkout” company, indicate that the trend towards e-commerce, which has witnessed a significant acceleration as a result of the pandemic, will remain a trend.
According to the report, 96% of consumers in the UAE shop using e-commerce, which is an increase from 89% who shopped using e-commerce last year. This comes as evidence of the continuing consumer demand for flexibility and convenience in online shopping. 4 out of 10 consumers in the UAE shopped online at least once a week or more in 2022.
