74 initiatives are being implemented within its Green Economy strategy in Dubai

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented 74 initiatives that include a pioneering green economy project to preserve and sustain the environment, improve energy efficiency and use clean substitutes to effectively respond to the UAE’s Green Development Strategy launched in 2012 under the theme “Green Economy for Sustainable Development”.

The initiative also included the expansion of the use of clean energy through the installation of solar cells in the buildings and facilities of the Authority. The Authority has developed a roadmap for the use of clean energy. The solar cell system has been installed on the parking building of the headquarters of the Authority with a capacity of 300 kW, Al Qusais station with a capacity of 10 kilowatts
