South Africa, Uzbekistan discuss investment cooperation with Sharjah Chamber

During the meeting, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry reviewed high-level diplomatic delegations from the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the most important investment advantages enjoyed by the Emirate of Sharjah, and discussed with them ways to develop and strengthen economic and trade relations and access to areas and opportunities for investment cooperation and trade exchange between the business communities.
During his meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sharjah discussed with the Director General of the Chamber the prospects for cooperation and partnership, in order to enhance mutual investment and build the foundations for serious future work between the economic activities in Sharjah and South Africa.
He called on businessmen and investors in South Africa to communicate with the official bodies of Sharjah and their counterparts in the UAE businessmen in order to establish joint business and participate in the economic exhibitions and events organized and organized by the Emirate throughout the year to get a closer look at the business community Economic development and facilities granted to foreign investors in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Economic and trade relations between the UAE and South Africa have witnessed significant developments over the past three years. Non-oil trade between the two countries increased from 9.3 billion dirhams in 2016 to 14.1 billion dirhams in 2018 with a growth rate of 51.6 percent.
On the other hand, the Chamber discussed means of enhancing economic cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan during the meeting which was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State in the presence of HE Mohamed Ahmed Al Awadi, Director General of the Chamber.
The meeting reviewed the most important economic competitive factors possessed by the Emirate of Sharjah and the need for cooperation in the tourism sector, industrial and agricultural, as well as the most important events and exhibitions.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest that contribute to the promotion of trade, investment and industrial cooperation between Sharjah and Uzbekistan to the stages of achieving the aspirations of the private sector in each side.
