Bee’ah’s presence at the World Energy Conference in Abu Dhabi

Bee’ah, a Middle East sustainability company, will showcase its innovations in clean energy and waste-to-energy technologies at the 24th World Energy Conference hosted by the UAE under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. 9 – 12 September at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
Two of Bee’ah’s projects will participate in the conference. The first is ION, which was launched as the first sustainable commercial transport company in the region through a partnership with Al Hilal Projects Group. ION will showcase Bee’ah’s plans and commitment to providing zero-emission transport solutions and managing a fully sustainable fleet in the UAE and the MENA region at its stand.
The second project, the Emirates Waste to Energy Company (EWTE), a joint venture between Bee’ah and Masdar, will showcase its latest innovations at Bee’ah stand and introduce visitors to its unique project, Sharjah Waste Transfer Station. At the end of its construction in 2020, the plant will treat more than 37.5 tons of municipal solid waste per hour to generate sustainable electricity with a capacity of 30 MW and divert more than 300 thousand tons of waste from landfills each. Public.
At full capacity, the plant will contribute to achieving one of the UAE’s goals of diverting 75 per cent of its solid waste from landfills by 2021, as well as the emirate of Sharjah’s goal of diverting waste away from landfills.
This year’s World Energy Conference will bring together senior international officials, thought leaders and environmental experts whose main theme is “revitalizing the circular economy.”
His Excellency Khalid Al Huraimel, CEO of Bee’ah, will participate in a panel discussion on the topic on the opening day of the conference where he will highlight Bee’ah’s leading projects in the field, both self-owned and jointly with other partners such as the Ion and Emirates Transformational Projects. Al-Huraimel welcomed the participation in the 24th World Energy Conference to discuss ways to develop a more sustainable future with the world’s industry leaders in light of the economic and environmental challenges we face today, pointing to the urgent need to shift towards a “circular economy”.
“Since the beginning of our journey in 2007, we have adopted a comprehensive approach to sustainability and our operations now include various sectors such as waste management, water, air quality, technology, transport and energy. The first waste-to-energy plant in the UAE is being established in partnership with Masdar. Hreimel discussed the role of Ion as an official partner for sustainable transport at the conference.

It is noteworthy that the World Energy Conference, which is held every three years in selected global cities is the largest and most important gathering of energy in the world and this session is the first held in the Middle East, where the UAE became the first country in the organization “OPEC” to host the event in its history, which extends to 94 years.
The World Energy Conference is unique in its coverage of several sectors in the field of energy, including oil and gas, renewable energy, nuclear energy and electricity generation. The conference is expected to be attended by about 15 thousand visitors, including about 4,000 delegates from various countries and 7 thousand visitors from businessmen.
