Within 100 days… the UAE launches 3 awards to enhance the competitiveness of the business sector

Efforts to devote excellence and creativity in the business sector in the UAE received a strong impetus through the launch of 3 high-level awards, all aimed at enhancing the positive competitive environment in this sector, and urging its employees to give more qualitative and distinguished contributions. The awards launched by the UAE during the past 100 days included the “Nafes” award, the Emirates Award for Leadership in the Labor Market, in addition to the “Make in the UAE Awards” program.

Last December 19, the UAE witnessed the launch of the first round of the “Nafes” award for the year 2022-2023, under the slogan “Compete and Excellence”, with the aim of encouraging positive competition between private sector establishments in the field of Emiratisation by honoring the establishments that have achieved the Emiratisation goals. In addition to celebrating the distinguished Emirati cadres working in this sector. The award honors distinguished Emirati cadres who have an influential and contributory presence in advancing the private sector and advancing the economic development of the country.
The award aims to motivate the efforts of private establishments to achieve Emiratization goals, and to provide distinguished job opportunities through which national talents emerge, to contribute to achieving economic growth, and encourages Emirati citizens to search for professional opportunities within private establishments.
The award is granted in 3 categories: private companies registered on the Nafes platform that have achieved Emiratisation targets, the category of individuals who are working citizens and trainees, strategic partners from government and semi-governmental sector institutions, in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to achieving the vision of the UAE Cadres Competitiveness Council in the Emiratisation file.

Leadership in the labor market

Last March, the UAE Cabinet approved the establishment of the Emirates Award for Leadership in the Labor Market, with the aim of honoring the owners of distinguished practices from the owners of establishments and workers, in a way that consolidates these practices and enhances the competitiveness of the labor market in the country.
The award includes the “Emirates Award for the Leading Establishment in the Labor Market” category, in addition to sub-categories at the level of small, medium and large enterprises, as well as categories of skill levels for the distinguished workforce in the labor market that contribute to community service in the UAE.

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology launched the “Make in the UAE Awards” program to honor the leading industrial companies that most contribute to industrial and technological growth, localization, sustainability and innovation in the industrial sector in the UAE.
The “Make in the UAE” awards, which come under the umbrella of the “Make in the UAE” initiative, celebrate distinguished visionaries, pioneers and innovators who contribute to developing and enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial sector in the UAE, from national and foreign companies, in appreciation of their contributions to advancing the industrial transformation movement in the country. The awards program is based on opening the door for nominations for 10 categories that fall under 4 main classifications, which are factories of the future, contribution to added national value, industrial enablers, leadership and talent.
