Dubai hosts the Discover Europe Summit.

Dubai, April 26 / Dubai is preparing to host more than 100 representatives of the tourism sectors in Austria, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland within the framework of the Discover Europe Summit, which will be held from April 29 to 30 at the 25 Hours Dubai One Central Hotel. The event aims to strengthen relations between the participating parties. And exploring new horizons within the travel market in the Middle East.

The event will take place the weekend before the launch of the Arabian Travel Market, the largest exhibition dedicated to the travel sector in the region.

The event is being held in cooperation with the European Travel Commission, and is expected to attract no less than 110 destinations specialized in the luxury tourism and hospitality sectors in the GCC countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The event includes a range of presentations from the National Tourist Councils of the four European countries as well as personal interviews and networking events, covering industry trends and bringing together buyers and exhibitors through 4,500 meetings.

Miguel Gallego, Head of Marketing at the European Travel Commission, confirmed that the Discover Europe Summit in Dubai seeks to strengthen long-term relations and promote Europe’s rich culture, ancient history and picturesque nature to discerning travelers from these countries, pointing out that cooperation provides an opportunity to provide travel experiences. Innovative that reflects the best offers offered by Europe and paves the way towards a more growing and successful future for the travel sector.

Michael Tauchmann, Director of the Middle East and India Region at the Austrian National Tourism Office, considered the event an opportunity to reconnect with the GCC market and keep abreast of the latest trends in the travel sector, expressing his pride in classifying one of the most prominent destinations for travelers from the Middle East alongside the other three European countries. To cooperate and facilitate fruitful communication between the most prominent entities in the tourism sector and local companies operating in the sector.

For her part, Yamina Sofu, Director of the German National Tourism Office based in Dubai, the regional office of the German National Tourism Board, said that she realizes the importance of the Gulf market, especially with the high levels of travelers witnessed in 2022 compared to previous years, adding that it is an opportunity to discover a group of distinctive destinations with a group From unique cultural offerings to Germany’s stunning nature, as well as highlighting environmentally friendly travel options with an emphasis on sustainability.

Ashling McDermott, Director of the Irish Tourism Authority in the Middle East and Asia, pointed out that participation in the Discover Europe Summit comes in light of the positive results achieved by the most prominent European tourism councils in previous sessions, with the aspiration to participate again and review the distinction that Ireland enjoys as an exceptional destination for clients of the GCC countries. In his turn, Matthias Albrecht, Director of the Swiss Tourism Authority in the GCC states, confirmed that the Discover Europe summit is an important platform to review the tourism potential in Switzerland, as the levels of visitors to Switzerland from the GCC countries during 2022 approached levels before the global health crisis in 2019. And it continues to rise this year.
