Dubai Investment Development Corporation (DED), one of Dubai’s economic institutions, held a strategic seminar to familiarize US investors with the opportunities, facilities and advantages in the Emirate of Dubai, as well as several meetings with prominent companies in Denver, Colorado, as part of the second leg of its promotional tour in the United States. The mission is part of the Dubai Government’s international promotion program, following the growth of FDI flows from the United States to Dubai.
The international promotion program aims to strengthen Dubai’s key strengths as a global preferred investment destination because of its investment-friendly policies and ease of doing business in line with the emirate’s strategy to diversify the economy.The seminar in Denver focused on investment in key sectors such as aviation, agriculture and economic policies.
Fahad Al Gergawi, Executive Director of the Dubai Investment Development Corporation, said that our visit to Denver is part of the strengthening of Dubai’s investment relationships and business networks in this city, as well as throughout Colorado. In the Middle East markets.
A seminar was held at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, followed by several important meetings, most notably with those at the Denver International Airport to explore potential opportunities to enhance aviation cooperation through Emirates.
The delegation also met with the Denver Bureau for Economic Development, as well as the Colorado Bureau for Economic Development and International Trade. The most prominent outcome of these meetings was the renewal of bilateral relations agreements between Dubai and the public authorities that started in 2016. At the state level, the delegation also addressed research and education initiatives in food security led by the Western National Center.
Another meeting took place at Colorado State University and the Colorado Department of Agriculture, where the Dubai delegation held an intensive dialogue on food security. It also discussed possible ways in which Dubai could improve curricula at universities to include agriculture and sustainability, as well as key areas where it might take place. DIFC’s promotional mission has included a total of 18 US cities over the last five years to promote Dubai as a globally preferred investment destination, and through its international promotion missions, the Foundation has been able to attract foreign investors and promote Dubai’s continued efforts to diversify its economy.
