Omar Karimlev, President of the International Boxing Federation, appreciated the great welcome from the UAE to host the third session of the World Boxing Forum, which was launched at the Conrad Hotel in Abu Dhabi yesterday evening, and is held for the first time in the Middle East, with the participation of national federations and stars of the game, past and present.
The President of the International Federation described Abu Dhabi as the capital of world sports, and said during the press conference held yesterday on the sidelines of the first day of the forum: “Abu Dhabi is not only the capital of sports in the Gulf or the Middle East, but also the capital of sports in the world, as it respects all cultures and values, It is qualified to be the home of international boxing, as it has all the capabilities of distinguished infrastructure and high-quality services.

Omar Karimlev said: “I thank the wise leadership of the UAE that supports sports and athletes, which has made the UAE a center for international sports, and within a short period of only 3 weeks, we were able to arrange the holding of this forum, and this is difficult to happen in another country.”
And the President of the International Federation touched on the announcement of the International Olympic Committee, to exclude boxing from the Olympics, against the background of accusations of corruption of previous administrations in the International Federation, the President of the International Federation said: “We carried out the necessary investigations and punished those responsible for that by suspending for life, now there is a new board of directors for the International Federation of the game, Which is one of the pillars of the history of the Olympics, and our doors are open to everyone, especially to the media, to answer any questions with complete transparency, and we have implemented most of the reforms requested by the International Olympic Committee, so I am very confident that boxing will be present in the Olympics.
He explained: “The International Boxing Federation is committed to its pursuit of interdependence and cooperation between the sport of boxing and boxers, and all national sports federations under one umbrella, and to work in harmony to create a harmonious and successful system for the sport of boxing, and this is highlighted by hosting and holding events and forums such as the World Boxing Forum, and the role of the International Boxing Federation Essential to all boxing-related activities, including the Olympic Games.”

And Omar Karimlev announced the desire to open a boxing complex in Abu Dhabi, noting that the headquarters of the International Boxing Federation is located in Lausanne, Switzerland.
For his part, Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the UAE Boxing Federation, said: “The sport of boxing in the UAE is constantly evolving, so we are pleased to host the International Federation’s World Forum in its current session for the first time in the Middle East, where discussions and exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge contribute to the development of the sport of boxing in the Middle East.” region and the world.
Al Hammadi added: We are honored to work with the International Boxing Federation directly and to witness closely their tireless and influential efforts in the sport of boxing, and we look forward to welcoming them again and that our hosting of the World Boxing Forum 2022 in Abu Dhabi will be the beginning of a fruitful professional relationship between us.
Al-Hammadi stressed that the leadership of the UAE supports all sports, indicating that Abu Dhabi is concerned with supporting amateur and professional boxing, especially in light of the presence of a distinguished infrastructure that makes it always able to host any international tournament or forum.
He said that the policy of the UAE is based on coexistence and tolerance, and the country embraces more than 200 nationalities who live in harmony, peace and love, and our country is open to all. The International Federation and its desire to establish a boxing complex in Abu Dhabi to the officials of the Boxing Federation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The press conference was attended by Estelle Moseley, Evander Holyfield, Kostya Tszyu, Roy Jr., and Tamara Thibault. The session was moderated by Angela Barnes. They discussed the importance of boxing as a historical sport in the Olympics, the advancement of women’s sports, and a number of recent topics.

The first day of the World Boxing Forum, of which the first and second sessions were held in Tsuchi in 2018 and Yekaterinburg in 2019, included a number of panel discussions, speeches, dialogues and seminars, and the message of this year’s session focused on providing equal opportunities for athletes and securing the participation of the International Boxing Federation in the Olympic Games. .
