The President of the State issues a decree appointing Imran Sharaf as a member of the diplomatic and consular corps and Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology Affairs

Abu Dhabi, on September 7, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, issued a federal decree for the year 2022, appointing His Excellency Imran Anwar Al-Sayed Mohammed Sharaf Al-Hashemi, as a member of the diplomatic and consular corps with the rank of ambassador, and Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Science and Technology Affairs advanced.

Eng. Omran Sharaf took over the management of the UAE project to explore Mars, “Probe of Hope”. He has been the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space since June 2022, and a former member of the UAE delegation to the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems.
