The Roskosmos Foundation announced that it is preparing for the launch of the first SKIF-D satellite dedicated to covering the Earth’s regions with Internet services.
“The Skif-D satellite, which will be the first satellite to be launched in the framework of the Sphere space program, was transferred to the Vostochny Cosmodrome to prepare for its launch into space,” a statement from the foundation said.
The statement added, “This satellite arrived at the Russian Blagoveshchensk airport on board an IL-76 aircraft, and on the night of September 28-29, it was transferred to the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The transfer process took about 9 hours.”
