DFSA licenses India’s Kotak Mahindra Bank

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has registered Kotak Mahindra Bank of India, numbering 500 on the list of licensed financial institutions providing financial services from and at the DIFC, where the bank will offer a full range of commercial banking activities.
Saeb Aigner, Chairman of the DFSA, said that this achievement is critical to the development of the DIFC in its 15th year and reinforces its position as a leading global financial center in the region and culminates many of its previous achievements. One of the leading banks in India and granted a Class I license.
The KOTAK Mahindra Bank branch in the DIFC is the bank’s first branch outside India and will bring the total number of Indian banks operating in the DIFC to 10.
