A Jordanian-Russian partnership to produce nuclear energy

Jordan and the Russian Federation signed an agreement to “enable” the two sides to carry out a joint feasibility study to build a Russian nuclear reactor of the type of compact reactors integrated into the Kingdom.
The Jordanian Atomic Energy Agency said in a statement on Saturday that the agreement signed by the agency with Russia’s Russian company Ross Atom Overseas on May 24 will enable the two sides to carry out a feasibility study to build a Russian reactor type of compact reactors compact in Jordan.
According to the statement, the two sides look forward to the benefit of cooperation in the field of compact reactors, and the vitality and possibility of using this type of reactors in the Kingdom as a result of the change in the Jordanian energy market.
“We have cooperated with Ross Atom for many years, and we are developing this cooperation in various fields,” said Jordan’s Atomic Energy Agency chief Dr. Khaled Tuqan, adding that the proposed project to build a compact nuclear power plant is more suited to energy market requirements and more.
