ABU DHABI, July 22: The Community Police Department of the Community Security Sector of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, as part of the “Safe Summer” campaign, organized a community event, “Our Summer and Our Children”, in the children’s city “KidZania”. It was held for two days at the Yas Mall mall in Abu Dhabi.
The event focused on educating the children of Abu Dhabi Police personnel and visitors to the Children’s City “KidZania” on how to invest their free time in a way that develops their abilities and develops their physical and intellectual skills, by visiting the amusement park, which includes several educational areas concerned with providing children with life skills.
Brigadier General Ahmed Masoud Al Mazrouei, Director of the Community Security Sector, stressed the Abu Dhabi Police’s interest in implementing its strategic priorities, which aim to enhance the happiness of the community, through programs and events, pointing to the importance of enhancing security and community awareness of young people and educating them on the best ways to fill their free time, especially during the summer vacation period.
Brigadier Dr. Hammoud Saeed Al-Afari, Director of the Community Police Department, explained that the “Our Summer and Our Children” activity targeted visitors to the children’s city “KidZania” of all ages, as part of the efforts of the “Community Police” to instill positive values and behaviors in them and provide them with skills, especially security and safety skills to deal with dangerous situations, and activate the role of partners. It included organizing many activities that contribute to raising positive awareness among students and children.
The event included awareness lectures for children on how to make the best use of leisure time, raising awareness of maintaining safety while at home, introducing them to the dangers of playing with electricity and kitchen utensils, safety requirements in swimming pools, warning them against using electric bicycles “scooters” on public roads, and limiting their use in designated safe places while making sure to wear personal protective equipment. It also included the distribution of awareness brochures and the organization of various competitions. .
