Abu Dhabi Police and Civil Defense confirm the continuation of closures and cooling operations for the Sweihan – Abu Dhabi road accident

The Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense teams have completed their handling of the traffic accident that occurred yesterday morning on Sweihan Road before Al Shamkha Bridge. As a result, a fire broke out.

The competent authorities immediately rushed to the site of the accident and began their procedures in dealing with the accident and the fire and changing the traffic movement, as they closed the roads and secured the entrances and exits, announcing through the media platforms of the Abu Dhabi Police the details of the closure movement and alternative paths.

Extinguishing operations and controlling the fire continued until approximately 11 am, after which the concerned teams began cooling operations, which are still going on until now. Record any other injuries.

With the continuation of the procedures for cooling operations and until the removal of the remnants of the accident and debris and the opening of roads, Abu Dhabi Police stresses that drivers must use the alternative roads mentioned in the map for those coming from Sweihan towards Abu Dhabi via Al Falah Bridge, passing through the Al Falah residential area and out of Al Shamkha Bridge, and for those heading abroad towards Sweihan, it is recommended to use Al Shamkha Bridge, passing through the Riyadh Bridge and out of Al Falah Bridge.

Abu Dhabi Police also stressed the need for drivers not to be distracted by anything other than the road and to adhere to safe driving for the safety of everyone, and called on community members to obtain information from its official sources through the media platforms of the Abu Dhabi Police General Command.
