Vote for Saudi Arabia” Call from the Communications Commission to support Saudi projects”

The CITC today invited the public to participate in the voting for Saudi projects through the ITU website (www.itu.int/net4/wsis/prizes/2018) to support projects submitted by a number of entities in the Kingdom to compete for the United Nations Awards The WSIS 2018 projects, consisting of 18 branches, will be announced during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Summit, scheduled for 19-23 March 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Authority said that the Kingdom competed for the 2018 awards in 21 projects in 600 projects around the world provided by 14 bodies, namely Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Advocacy and Guidance, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Communications and Information Technology Commission, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, the Capital Market Authority and the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage.
The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said that the awards are based on several criteria set by the award secretariat, including the number of votes each project receives.
The awards are presented within the framework of the United Nations system and organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of communications and information technology, in which the best ICT projects are selected to implement the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society and contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development. .
Since the launch of the award, the Kingdom has won 7 awards and 6 certificates of excellence in the previous editions of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Awards.
