And Al-Sakani, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Roads and Transport Authority awarded the first contract in the fourth phase of the Shindagha Corridor development project, and the scope of works of this contract extends on Sheikh Rashid Street from its intersection with Sheikh Khalifa bin Street Zayed, to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street, with a length of 4.8 km, and includes the implementation of three bridges with a total length of 3.1 km, with a capacity of 19,400 vehicles per hour for all lanes, at a cost of 800 million dirhams.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said: “The Shindagha Corridor Development Project, which extends along Sheikh Rashid Street, Al Mina Street, Al Khaleej Street, and Cairo Street for a length of 13 km, contributes to providing free traffic movements along the Shindagha Corridor, and raising the capacity road efficiency, and the level of traffic safety.
He added: “The fourth phase includes the construction of a 1,335-meter-long bridge, with a capacity of three lanes in each direction, to ensure a smooth flow of traffic between Sheikh Rashid Street and the Falcon Intersection. The bridge’s capacity is estimated at 10,800 vehicles per hour in both directions, and it also includes the implementation of a 780-meter bridge. With a capacity of three lanes, it serves the traffic coming from the Falcon Intersection towards Al Wasl Street, with a capacity of 5,400 vehicles per hour, while the length of the third bridge is 985 meters, with a capacity of two lanes, and serves the traffic coming from Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street towards the Falcon Intersection. Its capacity is 3,200 vehicles per hour, indicating that the project also includes the development of roads with a length of 4.8 km, in addition to the development of surface intersections on Jumeirah Street, Al-Mina Street, and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Street, and the construction of two pedestrian bridges, the first on Sheikh Rashid Street, and the second. On Al Mina Street, the project also includes road lighting works, traffic systems, rainwater drainage network, and irrigation systems network.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer stated that the Shindagha corridor development project is one of the largest projects currently being implemented by the authority, and its total cost is estimated at five billion and 350 million dirhams. In addition to a number of development projects such as Deira Islands, Dubai Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City, and Port Rashid. The population served by the project is estimated at one million. The development of the axis contributes to reducing the journey time from 104 minutes to 16 minutes by 2030 AD, and the value of the savings is estimated Reducing flight time by 45 billion dirhams over 20 years.
He added: “The Roads and Transport Authority has completed the development of a number of intersections within Al Shindagha Corridor, including the opening of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Oud Maitha Street (Wafi Intersection), and the development of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street, which included the construction of two bridges on Sheikh Khalifa Street. bin Zayed with a capacity of two lanes in each direction, and a bridge from Zabeel Street in the direction of Sheikh Rashid Street with a capacity of one lane, and a tunnel on Sheikh Rashid Street in the direction of the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Al Mankhool Street, with a capacity of four lanes in each direction, and five bridges were opened, providing entrances and exits A bridge for the Deira Islands at the intersection of Al Khaleej Street with Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Street. The total length of the bridges and ramps is 2571 meters, with an estimated capacity of 20,700 vehicles per hour. It also opened a main bridge on Al Khaleej Street with a length of 570 meters, with a capacity of three lanes towards Bur Dubai, and a surface intersection. On Al Khaleej Street, with Omar Bin Al Khattab Street, and the bridge serves the traffic on Al Khaleej Street coming from the intersection of Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Street and the traffic coming from Deira Islands towards Al Shindagha Tunnel, with a capacity of 4,800 vehicles per hour, and at the beginning of last year, a RTA completed the Infinity Bridge, which is approximately 295 meters long, with a capacity of six lanes in each direction, in addition to a common path for pedestrians and bicycles, three meters wide. The bridge is topped by an arch in the form of an infinity sign, with a height of 42 meters. It is one of the distinguished projects. In terms of design, it is based on its idea of ​​infinity, and expresses Dubai’s unlimited aspirations, and the bridge, with its unique architectural design, is a unique sign for Dubai globally.
His Excellency the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors indicated that the authority has made great strides in the implementation of the Falcon Intersection development project, which includes the implementation of two bridges along Al Khaleej Street, the first with a length of 750 meters in the northern direction, and the second with a length of 1075 meters in the southern direction, with a capacity of 6 lanes in each direction, with a capacity of 6 lanes in each direction. With a capacity of 24,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, the project also includes the construction of a single-lane bridge for right-turn traffic from Khalid Bin Al-Waleed Street to Al-Khaleej Street, with a length of 250 meters, with a capacity of 1,600 vehicles per hour, and the construction of a tunnel with a capacity of two lanes for left-turn traffic. From Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street to Al Mina Street with a length of 500 meters and a capacity of 3200 vehicles per hour, as well as the construction of a surface intersection governed by a light signal linking Al Khaleej Street with Al Ghubaiba Street and Khaled Bin Al Waleed Street.
