Abdullah bin Zayed: The UAE is a destination for money and business and its status is enhanced

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has signed memorandums of understanding with a number of consulting companies in the country with the aim of enhancing coordination and cooperation and supporting the flow of foreign investments to the country. The MoUs were signed yesterday at the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Dubai. The list of consulting firms included The Corporate Group, Dubai Consultancy, OnTime and Nexis Business Services.

HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships at the national level to enhance the national investment environment and enable UAE investors to contribute more to the development of economic partnership with other countries. He added that the UAE is characterized by an active, prosperous and attractive economic environment that attracts foreign direct investment. The UAE has succeeded in strengthening its position as a global destination for money and business, in line with the vision of “Emirates 2021” based on establishing innovation in various fields and priority sectors for the future of the country. Innovation, research, science and technology are key pillars of a highly competitive, high-productivity knowledge economy driven by entrepreneurs in a stimulating business environment that fosters effective public-private partnerships.

The MoU was signed by Mohammed Sharaf, Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Economic and Commercial Affairs, as well as by the executive directors of the national consulting companies that signed the memorandums.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ahmed Bin Ghannam, Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Fahd Gergawi, Executive Director of Dubai Investment Development Corporation, Marwan Al Sarkal, Director General of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq, Mohammed Al Mashrakh, Director of Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office and Sharif Al Awadi.

The UAE is developing and enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment and attracting foreign direct investment by supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship and encouraging the establishment of small and medium enterprises in the private sector.

The vision of the State 2021 is to build a knowledge economy, promote innovation, research and development, develop legislative and regulatory frameworks for key sectors of the economy, and promote value-added sectors
