Abu Dhabi Chamber succeeds in resolving amounts of about 47 million dirhams of commercial disputes

Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the Chamber’s legal services department succeeded in 2018 in settling over 47 million dirhams of the total disputes and disputes offered to it in order to find solutions in an amicable manner without recourse to the courts or arbitration.
He added that a percentage of the differences and complaints presented to the Chamber to try to find solutions are still under settlement or have been frozen for lack of review or follow-up of the relationship or lack of jurisdiction.
Al-Muhairi explained that achieving a high percentage in resolving the disputes presented to the Chamber through friendly settlements was the result of the direct relationship between the Chamber and its members, which is surrounded by mutual respect and the efforts of the Legal Services Department. Which positively reflected the confidence of the members of the Chamber in our efforts to resolve differences with the friendly party and develop alternative solutions and friendly settlement systems.
The Legal Services Department of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, as a neutral third party, is conducting a non-binding negotiation process aimed at assisting the “parties to the conflict” to resolve their dispute in an amicable manner by following and using new methods of dialogue to bring the views closer to reconciliation and resolve the dispute in a friendly and confidential manner. Saving time, effort and money, as well as reducing the burden and pressure of the courts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Al-Muhairi also pointed out that the Chamber provides excellent quality services to businessmen and investors. This is part of the objectives of the Chamber to serve its members and to overcome obstacles to increase investments and trade in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Legal Services Department provides legal advice to private sector companies and businessmen on a daily basis on issues related to their business with a view to clarifying the proper legal position in accordance with the laws of the UAE in general and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular.
