Dubai Chamber unveils supervisors and mentors in the UAE and African Startups Training Program

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has unveiled eight mentors of experienced and business leaders who will oversee the implementation of the second phase of the UAE-Africa Startups Training Program, which will be held on the sidelines of the 5th edition of the Africa-Africa Global Business Forum. Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will be inaugurated this November under the slogan “Africa tomorrow, the future development”.
The list of trainers and mentors included four prominent personalities in the field of startups in Dubai and four African personalities specialized in the field of startups. These selected and specialized personalities will supervise and train the startups participating in the program. The mentors and trainers were selected for orientation training based on their experience and professional history. Successful in establishing startups and leading them to prosperity.
The mentors from the UAE will oversee the five African companies that have qualified for the program, while mentors from the continent will oversee the startups operating in the UAE who have qualified to participate in the program.
The UAE-UAE Startups Training Program is the first of its kind to stimulate cooperation and partnership between startups in Dubai and the African continent.It is a qualitative initiative launched by the Dubai Chamber to attract startups to the UAE and help startups in the UAE to expand to overseas markets in Africa.
The list of supervisors and trainers from the UAE, who will oversee the training and mentoring of African startups, included Chris Thomas, CEO and co-founder of Eureka, Cynthia Corby, the Middle East’s leading construction industry in Deloitte, Nader Amiri, founder and CEO of el grocer. Grocery and Nassib Boeri CEO Wenderman Mina.
Chris Fulayan, founder and CEO of Mall of Africa, Agusa Umwigi, Founder and Managing Director of EcoVC, and Jonathan Berman, CEO of JE Berman, were among the African trainers who will be training companies in the UAE that have qualified for the training program. The three-month training program will run until the fifth session of the African Global Business Forum on November 18-19, and will provide the 10 startups from the UAE and Africa beyond benefits and guidance to include the benefits and services of the Dubai Entrepreneurship Initiative. The DCCI also has the opportunity to speak at the African Global Business Forum and showcase their ideas and products, giving them an opportunity to hold discussions, discussions and meetings with investors and dealers.
The first phase of the program concluded with the organization of the Dubai-UAE-Africa Startup Competition on the sidelines of the African Technology Summit held last February in the Rwandan capital of Kigali, in which 10 Emirati startups and 10 African startups participated. Innovative on the solid foundations of the training and orientation program, they reviewed the challenges that hinder their expansion and growth as cross-border startups and identified the needs and requirements for the growth and development of each startup in its and other markets.
