A medical team develops methods for diagnosing retinopathy in diabetic patients

Diabetic retinopathy is one of the major complications of diabetes and this condition can lead to vision loss if left untreated. Therefore, there is an urgent need for innovative and comprehensive methodologies that reduce the risk of vision loss through early diagnosis and early treatment of diabetic retinopathy.

Al Jalila Foundation has invested in a research study led by Dr. Mohamed Ghazal of Abu Dhabi University to develop a computer-assisted diagnostic system that enables early assessment of retinopathy in diabetic patients.
