The leaders of Japan and Africa agreed today to develop an infrastructure in African countries of outstanding quality that supports the economy and takes into account the ability of any country to repay debts.
In a joint declaration issued at the end of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Yokohama, the leaders said that high-quality infrastructure is key to sustainable economic transformation.

To address the debt burden, Japan has offered training in debt and risk management to officials in 30 African countries over the next three years.
This year’s TICAD conference focused mainly on the contribution of business to the continent’s economic growth. The Japanese prime minister pledged that Japanese companies will invest more than $ 20 billion in Africa over the next three years.
The three-day TICAD conference, attended by leaders and representatives of more than 50 African countries as well as international organizations, attended.
