Russia is likely to participate in the construction of a railway linking the African continent, according to the minutes of the meeting of the joint government committee between Russia and Sudan.
According to the agency, the pipeline will extend from Dakar to Port Sudan and Cape Town, and the Sudanese side welcomed the participation of Russian companies in the construction of the project.
For his part, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to participate with the national institutions interested in the project, provided that the official assurances by the relevant countries to submit detailed financial, organizational and legal models of the project.
The project is part of the African Union’s plan to connect the Dakar port in Central Africa to the port of Djibouti in East Africa, and will pass through 10 countries, with an estimated cost of US $ 2.2 billion.
