Canada sends 40 fighters to Poland to train Ukrainian soldiers

Canada said on Tuesday it would send another 40 combat engineers to help support Polish efforts to train Ukrainian forces as part of its commitment to increase military support for Ukraine.

“Today I announce that Canada will send in the coming weeks about 40 combat engineers to Poland to help Polish forces train Ukrainian explosive experts in engineering reconnaissance, (handling) explosives, laying mines and clearing them,” Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand told a news conference in Warsaw.
