Japan’s stock index gained for the third week

Japan’s Nikkei closed higher today, as investors bought up stocks linked to the economic cycle, while Nintendo jumped after Tencent won approval to sell Nintendo chipsets in China.

The benchmark Nikkei <.N225> was up 0.5% at 22,200.56. In the week, the index rose 1.5% to make gains for the third week, respectively. The broader Topix index gained 0.1% to 1,616.93 points.
