Jordanian-Iraqi talks to cooperate in the fields of oil, gas and electricity

The Jordanian Minister of Energy, Hala al-Zawati, met with Iraqi Oil Minister Thamir al-Ghadhban to the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil, gas and electricity.
The Iraqi minister stressed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Jordan in the field of energy, describing the talks held by the Iraqi and Jordanian sides today fruitful, expecting that the two countries will bear fruit soon.
The talks dealt with providing Jordan with Iraqi oil in accordance with a memorandum of understanding signed later after obtaining the approval of the governments of the two countries and discussing the draft pipeline for the export of Iraqi crude oil “Rumaila – Aqaba” as well as the project of electric connection between the two countries.
