Jordan’s statistics department said that the results of the latest census showed that the proportion of young people (less than 15 years) accounted for 34% of the total population in the Kingdom. In a statement on the occasion of the International Population Day, which falls on Wednesday, the 15-64 age group represents 62% of the human resources, while the percentage of the elderly (65 years and over) is 4%. The average age of the population in Jordan between the 2004 and 2015 censuses was 11% (from 5.4 to 4.82, respectively).
