The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ZTE (HK) Limited at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh as part of its plans to build a digital environment that captures, incubates and develops ICT minds and skills to achieve digital transformation to drive development in the Kingdom.
The agreement, signed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Technology and Digital Capacity Dr. Ahmed bin Hamdan Al-Thunayan and Vice President of ZTE Ho Sank, aimed at developing human capital capabilities and increasing ICT employment opportunities, as well as fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The agreement will create a center for innovation and acceleration of digital solutions. It will provide a portal to provide digital transformation services in the Kingdom. In addition, the center will provide high-quality training and training opportunities for national cadres and will be the center of innovation and incubation for entrepreneurs in the sector by stimulating innovative digital business models. Including the development of human capital in the sector in the areas of leadership and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of things for more than 1000 national cadres, and will be through the Convention to develop the functions of quality of national cadres.
Dr. Al-Thunayan explained that the strategic partnership with ZTE has a supportive role in the ministry’s goals and plans for 2020, which focuses on investing in national cadres and enhancing the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship sector, especially with regard to future technologies such as artificial intelligence and internet. Investment in national capacities and cadres, which is one of the most important pillars of success to ensure the continuation of development and leadership in the Kingdom, pointing at the same time that the policy of the ministry in the establishment of partnerships with the relevant bodies aimed at achieving integration and cooperation and unite efforts to serve Objectives of the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
