The General Authority for Ports in Riyadh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Program to Support Project Management, Operation and Maintenance in the public entities “Projects”, under which “Projects” will provide advisory services and technical support in matters related to the administration of the Authority’s projects and ports. His Excellency the Chairman of the General Authority of Ports Engineer Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khaleb said.
The project also studies and evaluates the management of the current construction projects in the Authority in terms of designing an appropriate organizational model for the organization to manage its projects efficiently, and determining the policies, procedures, processes, human and technical capabilities available and the systems of implementation of construction projects, while providing the required information as well as nominating Qualified and competent to lead departments according to the approved structure.
The Project Management Offices will be established at the Authority; to develop a flexible environment for the efficient implementation of projects to 9 ports throughout the Kingdom, to qualify project management companies to implement the National Projects Manual and to provide training to the Commission’s staff.
H.E Eng. Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khallab affirmed that the signing of the agreement will contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of project implementation and upgrading the performance and work in Saudi ports. He pointed out that this memorandum comes within the framework of the development plans and initiatives of the Development Authority to develop and follow up project management in Saudi ports according to best practices and international standards, With the national program to support project management, operation and maintenance in public entities “projects”.
