The Middle East Electricity 2019, the world’s largest annual commercial platform for the energy sector, will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from March 5 to 7.
The exhibition and its accompanying events will discuss some of the most pressing issues in the sector, including: how energy storage contributes to ensuring a high-quality power supply for unstable networks, remote areas, photovoltaic power and power storage on integrated energy solutions. The German company NGK Europe Case about 650 MW Courier supplied by sodium and sulfur batteries currently used in the UAE.
A report on energy sector projections in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region indicates that GCC countries can provide up to US $ 10 billion in infrastructure investments over the next year using smart grid networks.
“The development of smart electricity networks is one of the most important steps towards improving the conservation and diversification of electricity in the GCC,” said the report by Ventures Insight for the Middle East Electricity Show.
The GCC smart grid market is expected to grow to US $ 1.68 billion by 2026 as local governments deploy smart grid networks in response to the growing demand for energy storage systems.
“The future of the energy sector is based on smart power grids, which will be one of the most important topics to be discussed at the Middle East 2019 exhibition, whether in exhibition pavilions or in dedicated dialogue sessions,” said Claudia Kunicna, Middle East Exhibition Manager, Informa Industrial Exhibition Group. Networks are an essential part of the region’s ambitions to create smart cities where smart power grids are critical to managing the growing demand for energy and mitigating the effects of climate change and global warming.
