The Emirates Mars Exploration Project, “Probe of Hope”, announced the monitoring of temperature changes in the Martian atmosphere, during the Avellion season, according to the observations of the infrared spectrometer, according to a scientific paper by “Sting Fan” and the co-authors, as part of the special issue of the first results. From the project via Geophysical Research Letters.

The project explained in a tweet on Twitter, which was attached to a 14-second video clip, that the Hope probe was able for the first time to monitor daily changes in temperature in the Martian atmosphere, without any significant differences in location or timing, which leads to a successful analysis of atmospheric waves. in details.

He added that as a result of the unique design of the Hope probe orbit, the infrared spectrometer can scan the entire Martian disk at any time, with the aim of identifying atmospheric temperatures at each altitude.

He continued: The picture shows the daily changes in temperatures in the Martian atmosphere, using the spectrometer, as the maximum and minimum temperature patterns move downward according to local time, which indicates the spread of heat waves. He added that besides “Sting Fan”, he participated in the scientific paper: Francois Forget, Michael D. Smith, Sandrine Gerlett, Khaled M, Badri, Samuel A, Atwood, Roland Young, Christopher Edwards, Philip Christensen, Justin Degan, Hessa Al Matrooshi, Antoine Bergon, Jiandong Liu, and Aehorn Mellor.
