Egypt is building a new fertilizer complex in Ain Sukhna, in cooperation with China and Italy

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed, during his meeting today, Wednesday, a high-level delegation that includes the heads of the Italian companies “Wuhuan Engineering” and “Palestra”, working in the field of fertilizers, and senior officials of the two companies, to start immediately the construction of the third industrial complex for the production of fertilizers in Ain Sukhna, to complement For the successful establishment and operation of the two industrial complexes for phosphate and compound fertilizers, and nitrogen fertilizers, in Ain Sukhna.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed El Shazly, Chairman of the Financial Affairs Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Staff Walid Abul Magd, Director General of the National Service Projects Authority, Major General Ihab Abdel Samie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals, and Walid Lotfi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrojet.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated, “The meeting dealt with reviewing the ongoing and long-standing cooperation with the Chinese and Italian companies. To develop the fertilizer production system at the local level, as it is one of the most important inputs and requirements affecting agricultural production and food security.

“The Egyptian state is working diligently to build a real and advanced industrial base in various industrial fields, especially those related to food security and vital sectors, in light of the growing international challenges in this regard,” President Sisi said.
During the meeting, Al-Sisi stressed the continuation of efforts to localize the industry and deepen local manufacturing in Egypt, especially through the transfer of knowledge, technology and experience, by benefiting from the advanced production and operational capabilities of major foreign companies in the world.
