Egypt signs a memorandum of understanding with the European Union to produce green hydrogen

Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Union on the production of green hydrogen worth 35 million euros, with the aim of supporting the Egyptian energy sector, on the sidelines of the climate conference currently being held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

In his statements on this occasion, Mohamed Shaker, the Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, said that signing the memorandum is the beginning of future cooperation in the field of green hydrogen between Egypt and the European Union, noting that there is a need for more cooperation between countries through technology transfer, exchange of experiences and strengthening regional markets. .
He stressed the need to move towards clean energy sources such as wind and solar energy in order to reduce the cost of hydrogen production from renewable energy.
