Saudi Ports: The service of transporting petroleum products in the Red Sea soon

The Saudi General Authority for Ports (Ports) has announced the completion of the final stages of the launch of the service of transporting oil products from one ship to another in the Red Sea region, near the commercial ports of Yanbu and King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu.
It is worth noting that this service is one of the initiatives of the Authority in the context of realizing the vision of the Kingdom of 2030 to make it a global logistic center and strengthening the national economy, which seeks to provide to the oil companies and maritime transport.
The core operations include the transfer of part of the shipments of oil products from the giant oil tankers VLC to smaller carriers “small cargo ships” for re-shipment to Saudi ports or other destinations, as the giant tankers are currently traveling on long flights to carry out The provision of services near Yanbu will reduce travel costs and provide more than $ 1.4 million annually.
In coordination with the concerned authorities, the finalization and finalization of the necessary procedures for launching the service, and attention to environmental safety through compliance with pollution control measures and comprehensive quality assurance before starting any process, was held during the workshop held on Wednesday with the participation of “Saudi Customs, The General Directorate of Border Guards, Aramco and Bahri, the Directorate General of Passports, and the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources. ”
MIPA is seeking to expand these operations in the future by providing other related services such as ship refueling, ship crewing and supply.
