New business licenses in Ajman grow by 8%

Ajman’s Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced that new business licenses issued in the emirate grew by 8 per cent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.
The renewed licenses grew by 5% according to the Department’s Business Report periodically to monitor the issuance and renewal of economic licenses in the Emirate.The results of the report reflect the continued confidence of the business community and optimism about the future of economic growth in the Emirate, in light of the initiatives and programs implemented by the Department to develop a practice environment. HE Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General of DED said that the growth of business licenses during the first half confirms the strength of the local economy and the attractiveness of the investment environment in the emirate. Al Nuaimi explained that the Department was one of the first entities to support the start of your business in 15 minutes, a service that was approved based on the results of the annual meetings of the UAE government held in September 2017.This service allows the issuance of economic licenses through the electronic platform services.government.ae/ business for more than 800 activities in the emirate who meet the conditions of service.

Al Nuaimi stressed that the Department continues its efforts to support economic growth through an integrated system of legislation, policies and services that contribute to the promotion of value-added activities, towards the achievement of its vision to create a sustainable and diversified competitive economy based on knowledge and innovation by 2021.
For her part, Fatima Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of Planning and Economic Studies at the Department, said that the total number of new licenses issued during the first half of this year has reached (2442) licenses, including (1699) new professional licenses with a growth of 15% compared to last year. 49 / new industrial licenses with a growth rate of 17 percent and / 653 / new commercial licenses, while the number of renewed licenses to reach / 12868 / renewed license, was / 6291 / renewed business license in addition to / 6149 / renewed professional license, Finally, 411 renewed industrial licenses, and Al Shamsi explained that the number of licenses renewed by the automatic renewal service reached / 2297 / license, representing A 18 per cent of the total licenses renewed during this period.
