From the first day of his ascension to power, Sultan Haitham affirmed his relentless quest to establish another phase of Oman’s renewed renaissance and unlimited ambitions.

It keeps pace with the requirements of the next stage in a way that meets the aspirations of the people of the country, and in a manner that preserves what has been accomplished over the past decades of the march of renaissance and build on it with the participation of the citizen and to provide everything that contributes to enriching the efforts of development, progress and development on the good land of Oman and in a manner that preserves the nation’s gains and maintains its security and stability, and it strives within Steady policy and relentless pursuit of peace issues.

The Sultan has taken many steps and measures that prepare for the implementation of the future vision “Oman 2040” that will be implemented over four successive development plans, initiated by the Sultanate with the launch of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021-2025), which outlined ambitious, clear and specific national goals, linked to timely implementation programs that seek to Restore the momentum of economic growth and achieve balanced economic and social development, by implementing the proposed programmes, initiatives and projects within a time and organizational framework.

Articles 5 to 11 of the Basic Law of the State regulate the mechanism of who will devolve the rule of government in the Sultanate of Oman in a clearer and smoother manner, as Article (5) states that “the system of government is a sultan and hereditary in the male descendants of Sultan Turki bin Said bin Sultan, According to the following provisions: The guardianship of the ruler passes from the sultan to his eldest son, then the eldest son of this son, and thus layer after layer. The rule is children, and the guardianship passes to his eldest brother. If he has no brothers, it passes to the eldest son of his eldest brother, and if the eldest of his brothers does not have a son; So to the eldest sons of his other brothers, according to the order of age of the brothers, and if the person who has the authority to rule does not have brothers or nephews, the authority to rule passes to the uncles and their children in the order specified in the second clause of this article. It is stipulated that whoever takes over the government should be a sane Muslim, and a legitimate son of Omani Muslim parents.”
