Dubai Customs has announced that 15,000 carpets worth AED 1 billion will be offered during City Walk events from January 20 to February 14.
A promotional character was used for the current exhibition, “Zuwail”. The local word “carpet” was chosen to promote the local dialect and consolidate the UAE’s cultural heritage.
Farida Fadhil, Chairman of the Carpet Oasis Committee at Dubai Customs, said: “The Carpet Oasis exhibition is an ideal platform for the promotion of the world-class carpet industry because it attracts the finest carpets.
For her part, Mariam Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the Carpet Oasis Committee at Dubai Customs, said: “The Carpet Oasis exhibition enhances the role of Dubai Customs in developing and facilitating services and enhancing the protection of the economy and society.
