The delegation of the Omani Shura Council reviews the pioneering experience of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library

Dubai, January 21, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and a delegation from the Omani Shura Council, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al-Ma’awali, Speaker of the Council, visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Library; In order to learn about its pioneering experience in leading the advancement of the culture and knowledge sectors regionally and in the Arab world, in addition to discussing ways of joint cooperation in the future.

The delegation was received by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, Member of the Board of Directors.

His Excellency Al-Murr began the meeting by welcoming the delegation, stressing the depth of the Emirati-Omani relations, which enjoy an exceptional nature in light of the common history of cultural heritage, which in turn was reflected in customs, traditions and a lot of vocabulary in poetry, prose, arts and literature.

His Excellency said, “We, in the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, are keen to expand cultural and strategic partnerships, in a way that supports our vision of sustaining the cultural and civilizational renaissance in the Arab and regional regions.”

The visit began with a tour of the ammunitions exhibition, where the delegation was introduced to all the rare holdings of books, atlases and rare manuscripts, including rare copies of the Holy Qur’an, early editions of publications of literary classics, and Latin translations of scientific works from the Islamic Golden Age, in addition to the first editions. For Arab and international cultures, and rare Arab periodicals from the Arab world and beyond.

The delegation also visited the Emirates Library, which includes more than 15,000 titles highlighting the various aspects of Emirati culture, in addition to the Business Library, which includes more than 25,000 titles on business administration, and many information about companies, guides and reports, in addition to halls designated for study and designed According to the highest international standards and practices.

At the end of the tour, the delegation of the Omani Shura Council and the Federal National Council praised the diverse and comprehensive contents and sources of knowledge in the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, and its pioneering role in preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the Arab region.
