Today, Yemen was elected to the post of Vice-President of the 66th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, representing the Middle East and South Asia group.
Yemen’s delegate to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Haitham Shuja al-Din, said, according to the “Yemen” satellite channel, that Yemen’s election is a victory for Yemeni diplomacy in the agency’s corridors, in light of the Iranian delegation’s attempt to obstruct consensus within the Middle East and South Asia group.
Over the course of five days, the conference will discuss topics related to technical cooperation and the peaceful uses of atomic energy in the treatment of cancer diseases.
