1.4% ؜ South Korean consumer prices rise

South Korea’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.4 percent in August from the same period last year, compared to 1.5 percent a month earlier, the South Korean statistics agency said on Wednesday.

South Korean consumer prices rose last month amid rising prices for agricultural goods and services.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile oil and food prices, rose 0.9 percent year-on-year.
