The value of Jordanian exports to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) countries rose by 20 percent, including the United States of America by 19.2 percent and non-Arab Asian countries by 8.9 percent, including India by 28 percent and the European Union by 38 percent, including the Netherlands by 31 percent. The value of national exports to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) fell by 7.3 percent, including Saudi Arabia, by 16.8 percent, according to a statement by Jordan’s statistics department on Thursday. As for imports, the value of imports increased significantly from the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) countries by 10 percent, including Saudi Arabia by 37 percent, while the value of imports from NAFTA countries declined by 27 percent, including the United States by 27.9 percent, Non-Arab Asian countries by 1 percent, including China by 1 percent and EU countries by 3.4 percent, including Italy by half a percent.
