21 million tons of cargo handled in Saudi ports during the month of June this year

The total tonnage of handled goods in the Saudi Ports, which are supervised by the General Authority for Ports (Ports) during the month of June 2019 amounted to more than 21 million tons, while the total number of exported and imported containers reached 557 thousand containers, an increase of 5.30% compared to the same period of last year.
According to the statistical index issued by the General Authority of Ports, the number of vessels received by Saudi ports during the same month reached 1,004 vessels, the number of passengers was more than 143 thousand passengers, the number of vehicles more than 55 thousand vehicles, while the number of livestock more than 434 thousand Head of cattle.
In this context, the Saudi Ports Authority is exerting great efforts to support and facilitate the Kingdom’s import, export and logistics sector in order to enhance its services, efficiency, productivity and logistic capabilities in order to achieve the objectives of the National Industrial Development Program and Services. Logistics.
