ADNOC completes joint LPG and propylene loading on board one tanker in Ruwais

Media In – Abu Dhabi – 11 December 2018 / WAM /
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced today the success of its first joint LPG and propane gas loading operation on a single tanker at Ras Al Ruwais port in the UAE.
ADNOC’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) gas processing and propylene gas produced by ADNOC were normally transferred separately. The successful loading of about 12,600 metric tons of propane gas and 33,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on a single tanker has contributed to a drastic cut in shipping prices.
“ADNOC is focusing on innovative solutions to achieve greater value and operational efficiency, and this pioneering process, which is being used for the first time in the sector, will bring great value to ADNOC and its customers,” said Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, ADNOC Marketing and Marketing Director.
“Shipping charges represent the bulk of the costs of delivering the product to customers and end users, and by sharing the product to a particular customer or location, we can achieve significant savings in these costs.”
In order to enable the joint loading of LPG and propane gas – which should be stored at different temperatures – ADNOC organized a number of workshops in which a group of ADNOC customers, product experts and companies participated in the loading process
