A British-Emirati agreement to integrate the development strategies of the two countries

The fifth session of the Joint Economic Committee of the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom was hosted by the United Kingdom, with the participation of HE Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, on behalf of HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy.

The British side was headed by Baroness Rona Fairhead, Secretary of State for Trade and Export Development of the United Kingdom.

At its current session, the Committee focused on integrating the development visions of the two countries by focusing on developing a broader economic partnership in priority areas in accordance with the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021 and the UK Industry and Export Strategy.

The talks also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the areas of energy, health care, life sciences, information technology, space, infrastructure, education, financial and professional services, as well as cooperation in technology, innovation, industrial revolution and artificial intelligence.

It was also agreed between the two countries to hold the next session of the Committee in the UAE in 2021 during the Expo Dubai.
