US stocks close higher

Major stock indexes on Wall Street closed higher today.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 81.25 points, or 0.31 percent, to 26543.33. The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index gained 0.47 percent, or 13.71 points, 2939.88 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index closed up 27.72 points, or 0.34 percent, at 8146.40.
