Jordan ranks 11th in Global Competitiveness Report

The World Competitiveness Report of the International Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development (IIS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, shows that Jordan has 11 points in the adoption of digitization in this year’s report to reach 45th place in the world, after ranking 56 in last year’s report.
The assessment includes three key indicators, namely knowledge, technology and future readiness, aggregated from 50 sub-indices, where Jordan has improved in all sub-indices to become the most improved country among all countries classified in the report
The report showed that Jordan was the world’s most improved among the countries covered by the report in its digital competitiveness. The index of knowledge rose five points to 56th from 61th place. The technology index rose two points to 48 th from the 50th place, 7 points to 41, compared to 48 last year.
This significant progress in Jordan’s digital competitiveness is due to the transformation of the Kingdom towards a more digital society and the government’s announcement of the introduction of the Digital Transformation Strategy (Jordan Digital).
The report shows that Jordan has many strengths that must be strengthened, such as international expertise and cybersecurity, the development and application of technology and broadband wireless Internet and large data, and Jordan should eliminate and improve vulnerabilities such as e-community participation, For users and tablet ownership. On the regional level, the UAE topped 17th in the world, followed by Qatar at 28th and Saudi Arabia at 42nd. Forty-fifth rank.
It is noteworthy that Jordan witnessed the beginning of this year a quantum leap in the digital transformation in the government sector and dozens of government services were launched in the context of the transition to a paperless environment.
